Day One:

I’m a bit disappointed by the container. The label is a cheap sticker that you can print on any inkjet printer. But at least there is a seal on top of the container. The instructions for application are longer than I thought. This means I won’t be jumping out of bed in the morning rubbing on some DermaTend and running out the door.

Some of the Pictures are not of the greatest quality. It was not until the scabe fell off that I learned of the Macro function on my camera.

i used dermatend about a month ago. im extremely dissapointed at the results. it left holes in my skin where my moles used to be. second, the application process sucks... it takes many days to see any kind of result and finally youre left with holes in your skin!?! chris, i don't know if it works on warts but it didnt work on my moles!

For some crazy reason I did a search on mole removal (I've got a couple I wouldn't mind removing). So far I haven't done anything yet. But I did stumble across the dermatend web pages - it looks like a lot of cheesy sales websites with no independent reviews. That said, I think it COULD work, but here's the kicker, I've found dozens of testimonies from people who got exactly the same results from various things that are much cheaper and commonly available, such as garlic, apple cider vinegar, and iodine.

Ironically this information came from a dermatend.net page! See:
http://blog.dermatend.net/

So I really don't think there is some magic formula, it seems that the process of slight abrasion (scratching the moles first lightly with a sterilized pin or something rough like a nail file or pumice rock) then applying any of the solutions reported to work, and waiting for it to scab over, then fall off. You can use ordinary petroleum jelly around the mole to protect the good skin from burns, and/or cut a hole in some tape to put over the mole first so only the mole is sticking out, then apply your "cure" and put a bandaid over the mole.

I think I'll give one of these alternative remedies a try before I test dermatend. I really suspect the same thing will happen either way.

drwill55 - ICK, those pics are disgusting! I guess you better be real careful. That said, I'd kind of expect any mole removal "home remedy" to be something caustic - afterall that's kind of the point, you are sort of "burning away" the mole. Obviously you need to take precautions not to "burn away" the skin around (or under) the mole. Pretty much all of the home remedies I've read about are caustic (iodine, apple cider vinegar, garlic, hydrogen peroxide, etc). Don't know anyone who has used dermatend though.

I guess our blogger here died :)

I took the plunge and used Dermatend on moles that were on my face for 20 years. Not a problem! It worked just as it said. I didn't die from it so make your own judgement for yourself. -Good Luck
